- Cook the rice.
- Get ready ingredients like 腊肠,eggs, carrot pieces, minced pork, prawns, chinese leek, hot-dog, green beans, salted fish and chilli. There are variety of fried rice ingredient, put those that you prefer. You may choose the frozen fried rice ingredients of beans and carrots packet sold too, and even like nasi goreng kampung packet which the sauce is ready. You can even do belacan fried rice of your own by adding piece of belacan to the hot oil (It is needless to add salt if you add belacan, unless it is not salty enough).
- Heat the wok. Add in oil.
- Add in garlic and shallots in the hot oil and toss until golden brown.
- If you decide to add in minced pork marinated with oyster sauce, cooked it first with a bit of oil and water for the meat needs to be fully cooked before eating.
- Add in the ingredients that you want to cook with the fried rice first, then add in the rice which is scramble with spoon or other utensils.
- Fried it for a while and add in salt, pepper and light soy sauce. You can cook either white or black fried rice with the only difference is to add salt only or both bit of salt and dark soy sauce.
- If you add prawns into it, place it before nearly done. When the shrimps turn pinks, it shows that it is cooked. If cook for too long, the flesh got hard and might not taste nice.
- Add some spring onions on top for decorations (Optional).
- It is now ready to eat.
Types of fried rice: Chinese Fried Rice (white or black), Nasi Goreng Belacan, Fried rice with Salted Fish or just a simple one with eggs and ketchup only. Add whatever you like or stick to a certain style.
