How to have fairer skin tone?

Level 10 Darkest (If level range from 1-10)

Level 6 Tanned (If level range from 1-10)

Level 3 Fair + tanned (If level range from 1-10)

1) Skin whitening lotion

Skin whitening lotion are very common nowadays, different brands varies from Nivea, Gevenne, Johnson&Johnson to Vaseline are on the market rack with different consumer group. Those are the brands that I have tried since I was in my teenage years. I used to have very dark skin tone which I often got mistaken by people as Bumiputera and speak Bahasa Melayu to me. When I was a child, I do feel unhappy and quite offended I guess. It did seems funny if I recall back.

Years passed as I grow up, I never give up using whitening lotion day and night twice a day each time after bathing. Body parts that are affected are legs until thigh part and hands until arms part. I fear of the sun, especially school rehearsal, sports day, or walking under the sun. Even when I feel cold and weak in the aircon room due to wet appliance of lotion in class or at work or during sick times, I never skipped using it. Finally, I stopped using it when I was 26 years old one day. I was once told by a supermarket promoter that I shall never turn into Snow White but if I continue using whitening lotion, I shall have a fairer skin tone compare to before. The best and most effective brand I suggest here is Nivea Whitening lotion with SPF which I used to be a loyal consumer. The higher the SPF the higher chances to get a fair radiant skin.

2) Skin whitening shower cream

As skin whitening lotion can only cover both legs and hands not the whole body, I still suffer from dark skin tone especially tummy, chest and so on. Ever since I tried Johnson &Johnson whitening shower cream every time bathing, my skin is obviously fairer from the inside. Now, my whole body has an even skin tone.

Sometimes, I tried other brands as well such as the cheaper brands in the supermarket out there which contains goat's milk content. But the result is not so satisfying if compare to Johnson &Johnson whitening shower cream.

However, I often experience sort of dry skin if not applying lotion or using milk bath. I couldn't choose to use moisturing type due to my condition. If one day the market comes out with a 3 in 1 whitening, moisturing and antibacterial product would most likely be competitive in the market for consumer like me. Now, I use Dettol shower cream or any brand would do more to a family product since that is my husband's choice. Sometimes I do use separate shower cream with my husband when I need something special for my skin like after giving birth the one to scrub away the dark skin tone.

 3) Skin whitening face cream
Not only body, face plays an important role in appearance and giving others first impression. I tried Hazeline in my teenage years, also Olay whitening cream, ZA, Loreal whitening products and etc. I still remembered that Loreal whitening lotion for face gives me a tight and radiant face glow, just like after using egg mask (Apply beaten eggs onto facial cotton and leave it on your face for 15-20 minutes for best result. Peel the faical cotton off and don't wash away the eggs stains). I sees the differences of the result due to I did not use any cream on my eyes area like Loreal eye cream for skin tightening. The skin near my eyes glow in the mirror while my eyelids are dull and dark. I use whitening products on my face and neck everyday once in the morning and once at night after bath for more than 10 years. I hardly skip appliance even though I fell sick. I have indeed had a hard time.

Now, I use Loreal laser whitening night cream only before sleep. I don't apply it everyday but once in a while since it has to be finished within 12 months upon opening. So slowly from using Loreal day and night cream everyday I turn to use it this way. Personally, I hope that I could switch to use moisturizing cream instead of whitening cream without letting my skin getting darker. This is due to aging problem, I am afraid of wrinkles caused by dry skin.

Also, as a housewife or late learner for cooking, I need to cook during day time especially for lunch and dinner. It is not convenient for me to wear face cream on my face as the oil surely will stains on my face, leaving me with an oily and pores blocked face. Neutrogena helps solve the problem.

4) Whitening facial cleanser
 Before each appliances of whitening cream, I use facial cleanser like ZA, Loreal and so on. Now, I use Loreal whitening facial cleanser everyday once in the morning and once in the evening after bath to ensure that I have a clean face free of oil and dirt.

5) Skin whitening mask
Skin whitening mask is an addition to whitening cream. I tried out very expensive facial mask before like ZA mask. Then, my husband bought me a few the facial mask which are sold at Watsons of various brands. Sometimes I tried out the skin firming and moisturizing mask too, whichever my husband bought for me. I did use mask once every week or fortnight.

6) Hand lotion
Before sleep appropriate amount of lotion is applied for both hands for anti-aging like Vaseline whitening lotion. My husband uses lotion of other types and uses lip balm.

Conclusion: As a housewife, I am hardly expose to the sun. Hence, I am no longer expose to the risk of having dark skin tone if compare to my school or working days. Anyway, my skin is no longer the darkest among the women (You could hardly pick on me or easily identified my as the darkest or the ugliest duckling), but I have an even skin tone all over my body regardless of inner or outer part of my body which maintains on a considered satisfying skin tone level. I feel glad to have a daughter born to have fair skin like my husband and perhaps mother.
